Frequently Asked Questions:

(Below are some questions from the Prepare Day at New Designers, and some sent directly to Gifted?).

THE COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.

* How do I submit more than one file?
You can submit more than one file, however the system only allows one file upload at a time. You will need to refresh the page by clicking the SUBMIT link at the top of the page to have the submission box show up again. Unfortunately this is a limitation of the system we are using and have no control over. I hope this helps.

* Do the A3 board apply to the cards, and if so what needs to be included?
The A3 boards only really apply to any development/inspiration etc. that lead you to your final design for your card. The card itself can be to the size you need it to be.

* Can I create a range?
If you wish to create a "range" that covers all the categories of the competition, this is fine but you will still need to enter each individual relevant category with your design(s).

* Is there a colour theme?
There is no "colour" theme to competition - but you should take into consideration the trends/themes for winter 2012 to ensure your look is forward thinking.

* Do I need to create a "real" mock up of my design?
This is entirely up to you - as the submissions are all online you could take a picture of your concept and attach it that way, or you could create a 3D render or impression of how you think the product would look, i.e. if you wished to create something in glass but didn't have the means to create it you could make a 3D render instead suggesting the material used.

* Do you have to live in the UK to enter?

No. Gifted? is a global competition open to everyone. However, we will not be able to honor the placement part of the prize for global entries due to budget limitations.

* Will you be at New Designers this year?

Yes. The Competition Team, headed up by Janine Burrows, will be launching the Gifted? competition at the New Designers Prepare Day on Friday 1st of April.

We will also be at the New Designers Show at stand S2 for both Part 1 & 2 of the exhibition.

Part 1: 30th June - 2nd July.
Part 2: 7th July - 9th July.

Please feel free to come along and say hello, and find out more about the Gifted? competition. If you are unable to make it down to London, keep an eye on the FAQ section here for any important updates.

PS. The team had a great time at New Designer Prepare Day. Check out the News section to see photos of the day.

* Why do I have to create an account?

We learnt some lessons from last years Gifted? competition. By you creating a Gifted? account on the website, we are able to match names and submissions a lot easier, without the need for extra admin work.

* Do I have to register?

Yes. Without this your entry will not be counted. You can register here

* Is there a deadline for registering?

The deadline for registering will be the same as the entry deadline - 30th July 2011.

* Does the design need to be for a specific occassion/theme?

Yes. This years theme is Christmas - so let your creativity flow.

* Can the entry be any size?

Absolutely, there are no limitations as to the design, we really want people to remove any preconceptions of "Christmas products" and do something new, interesting and original.

* Can I upload a Zipped file?

Yes you can, but please make sure it is no bigger than 10mb in size. (.rar for windows works too)
This is due to us having a limited amount of space available to us on our hosting platform.

* When will the winner be announced?

We have yet to confirm this date but more than likely will be the middle of October 2011.

* Can schools enter?

Only if they are over 18 years old.

* How can I contact you if I have any questions?

The best way is by email. If you have any questions you can get hold of us here: gifted@tigerprint.uk.com

We also have Gifted? Facebook page, here

Alternatively, follow us on Twitter:  _gifted_  , where you can Direct Message us.

Of course there's our website: tigerprint.uk.com, and our blog, so there plenty of ways to get hold of us.

* In addition to the above list we cannot stress how important it is to follow the criteria - we have had many entries already that don’t adhere to the set criteria therefore we cannot include them in the competition. We MUST see initial boards/exploration of the concept - where your ideas where generated.

We hope these FAQs help but if you require further help please use the contact email. (gifted@tigerprint.uk.com)

Thank you!
